Description
Fracas is a timeless rendition of tuberose that tattoos memory with fragrant clouds of voluptuous pleasure. Created in 1948 for designer Robert Piguet, this timeless perfume walks a sensualist’s tightrope that is one part pomp and swagger, one part pink velvet boudoir.
Perfumer Germaine Cellier was known for formulating unique fragrances in her time, but there isn’t an interpretation of tuberose in perfumery to date that comes close to the beauty of Fracas.
This Smell & Tell focuses on Cellier’s approach to fragrance creation and how she used her talent with the flourish of an iconoclast's wink.
The Smell & Tell series of art + science events at the Ann Arbor District Library is led by Michelle Krell Kydd, editor of Glass Petal Smoke.
