2010 Michigan Library MLK Symposium

Come join Sapphire on Monday, January 18th, from 2-4 PM at the Michigan Union Rogel Ballroom. The author of Push will be presenting a lecture on "Push, Literacy, Women, and African American Literature," for the 2010 Michigan Library Martin Luther King, Jr. Symposium.

Push tells the story of Precious Jones, 16, illiterate, and pregnant by her own father, who meets a teacher who will guide her to a better life and a chance at redemption. Push is the source of the highly acclaimed movie, Precious.

Following the lecture and discussion will be a book signing.
