Description
What do whiskey and perfume have in common? Follow your nose and the answers may surprise you. It’s not unusual to detect aromas from your favorite perfumes in your whiskey glass, especially when it comes to smoke, wood, and leather notes. Curious? You’ll be a better whiskey and fragrance connoisseur at the end of this presentation. P.S. You can take what you learn at Eau Whiskey to your favorite drinking establishment and punk the bartender with science.
Michelle Krell Kydd is the editor of Glass Petal Smoke, an award-winning blog that explores the world of scent and taste. She is a trained “nose” in flavors and fragrance and was interviewed in the winter 2012 edition of the Whisky Advocate on the subject of smoke notes in perfume and whiskey.
