The Play Ground

by Albert

The first opera we ever saw was when we were in grade school and an opera company came to the auditorium. We will never forget the music, the song and the costumes even if we really didn't understand what was going on. Glorious! Now we have the opportunity to see COSI FAN TUTTE by Mozart again and in an intimate setting much like my school. Don Alfonso claims that women are unfaithful so two young men bet that their girlfriends will remain loyal. This opera's plot was considered scandalous during its time and only gained international popularity in the 20th C. We cannot help but wonder why they picked this one for 3rd graders but we intend to go and be spellbound again. Mendelssohn Theatre, November 17-19.
