Claymation Puppet Workshop for Adults with Animator, Brad Pattullo

Sunday July 6, 2014: 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm -- Downtown Library: 4th Floor Meeting Room

This event is intended for Adults

Back by popular demand, clay animator Brad Pattullo will guide participants through the process of fabricating a clay puppet for animation. From character design to the assembly of a posable aluminum wire armature and sculpting with plasticine clay - you will come away with a fully-realized, stop-motion puppet for animation or display. Learn about stop-motion animation and how a puppet is animated. Brad Patullo is a Professor of Animation at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. Brad has worked for Will Vinton Studios on shows like "The PJ's" and "Celebrity Deathmatch." Note: This is a five hour hands-on session – attendees should plan to stay for the entire session to complete their work. If attendees finish their puppet early enough there will be equipment to make short animated films. Lunch will also be served.

This event was originally scheduled for the Downtown Library Multi-Purpose Room and has been relocated to the 4th floor of the Downtown Library.

How artistic do you have to be?

I would like to go to this workshop, but I've never worked with clay before. If anyone who attended last year reads this- can people who are not clay artists successfully attend this workshop?

Cool event! I've always

Cool event! I've always really admired claymation; it seems like such a hassle.

claymation puppet workshop

this sounds incredibly complicated, but i'm willing to give it a go!

Wendy Baker

I am excited to take the claymation workshop. Please register me. Thank you.

Artistic?

Hi Sara,

I'm not very artistic at all, and I attended 2 of these workshops in the past. I never worked with clay before, so that should give you an idea of my ability.

I had a lot of fun both times. You should definitely give it a try. You'll have a great time.

Good luck, and hope you attend! I'm hoping to be able to attend for the third time this year!

Beginners welcome!

Hi everyone - there is no registration required for this event - please just come at 11:00. It will take the entire time to complete your project. Pizza, and drinks will be served to get you through too. Beginners are always welcome!
