Description

Ann Arbor welcomes back RoseLynn Katz for her acclaimed one-woman show, "For You My Door Is Always Open: A One-Woman Show On Golda Meir." RoseLynn wrote and stars in this production, which was originally directed by David Novak. In this one-hour show, we first meet Golda as a loving grandmother before she takes us back to dramatic scenes from her life: as a terrified child witnessing a pogrom in Russia; a gutsy young activist in America; her political rise as the only woman in the man’s world of Israeli politics; her courage in disguising herself as an Arab woman on a dangerous journey through enemy lines; and her agony and eventual triumph as Israel’s Prime Minister during the Yom Kippur War.

RoseLynn Katz, who lived and performed in the Ann Arbor area in the 1980s and now resides in North Carolina, developed "My Door Is Always Open" after much intensive research. She last appeared in Ann Arbor in 2010 with her one-woman show, "The Devil Touched My Tongue: The Life And Wit Of Dorothy Parker," which examined Parker’s life and writings.

"For You My Door Is Always Open" premiered in Asheville, North Carolina earlier this year to much acclaim. RoseLynn is extremely pleased to bring the production to Ann Arbor.
