Cork Trivet Making Workshop

Monday August 19, 2013: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm -- Malletts Creek Branch: Program Room

Local crafter Dawn Henry demonstrates how to make trivets with wine corks.

We have plenty of corks, but bring some of your own if you'd like!

This event is for adults and teens (grade 6 and up).

How Interesting

We've been saving corks for over 10 years. Time to do something with them. We'll see if I can make it.

im kinda confused

sharp objects?

Will this craft involve cutting? (slicing the corks?)
Or will these be tall, thick trivets?

Sounds interesting!

@ betsywill we will not be

@ betsywill we will not be slicing the corks - these will be tall trivets. We will be using hot glue and some time and patience to get it together.

sounds fun and creative

A great use for wine corks!

To cut or not cut

I'm curious if anyone attended this and if they did indeed cut the corks or left them whole. If they weren't cut, those are some super thick trivets. If they did cut them, what was the recommended tool?
