Parents of DETROIT TIGERS Pitcher Justin Verlander Discuss How to Raise a Young Athlete

Tuesday, December 4 | Held at Washtenaw Community College, Morris Lawrence Building | 7-8 pm, with doors opening at 6:00 pm | Event includes a book signing and books will be on sale.

Richard & Kathy Verlander know from experience what the journey of a Baseball Parent involves - from Little League, to the World Series, and everything in-between!

With little background in any type of organized sport, they had no idea about the turn their lives would take when a neighbor suggested that their son Justin should sign up for Little League Baseball. They never would have imagined that, 20 years later, they would be receiving the Little League Parents of the Year Award in Williamsport, Pennsylvania - or that their son would be playing in the World Series!

Join us for this special event - co-sponsored by Washtenaw Community College and the Ann Arbor District Library - as Richard and Kathy discuss their amazing journey and their new book - Rocks Across the Pond: Lessons Learned. Stories Told.

This event will be held at Washtenaw Community College, Morris Lawrence Building, 4800 E. Huron Drive, Ann Arbor.

This event includes a book signing and books will be for sale. Doors open at 6 pm!

The presentation, open to all, is of special interest to parents, teachers, students, athletes and coaches!
