by aschling

"The more that you read,
The more things you will know.
The more that you learn,
The more places you’ll go."

You may recognize this quote from Dr. Suess' "I can read with my eyes shut!". Theodor Seuss Geisel was born March 2, 1904. This beloved author and illustrator of mostly children's books is most well-known by his pen name "Dr. Seuss". Dr. Seuss' first published children's book, "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" was actually influenced by the rhythm of ship engines. If you are interested in learning more about Dr. Seuss' life you can check out Dr. Seuss: American Icon or Dr Seuss & Mr. Geisel: A Biography. Some of Dr. Seuss' most famous books include Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Some of his books have even been turned into motion pictures such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas both animated and live action.
