Sex Pistols, Miles Davis, Blondie enter Hall of Fame

To their complete disgust, The Sex Pistols will be among Monday's inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with Miles Davis, Blondie, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd and, from former A&M records, Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss. To be eligible, artists must have released an album over 25 years ago. Several previous artists have been inducted more than once, either as solo artists or with a band. Can you guess the name of the only artist who has been inducted three times? (Click "Read More" for the answer.)

Eric Clapton

The Sex Pistols' official website has their complete, handwritten (and not safe for work) response to the induction. Quite funny.

Having never been to, or paid attention to, really, the R&R Hall of Fame, I find the whole concept kind of bizarre; it seems like such a strange institution that throws together performers with little to nothing in common musically. But then, I feel dirty going to the Hard Rock Cafe.

Right. Wish we could have heard what Miles had to say about it. I'm sure it would have been just as scathing. Which reminds me--the Library just got in a new DVD titled Punk Attitude. :)

I have been to the R&R Hall of Fame and it "rocks!". My personal favorite part of the exhibit is the room that lists dozens of "One Hit Wonder" songs on the walls. As you walk around the room reading the song titles, the overhead radio pipes tidbits of those exact songs into the room. I walked around the room for about an hour laughing and singing along to dozens of obscure and very cool tunes I forgot I even KNEW!! I was thoroughly entertained, and I couldn't believe the songs encompassed so many memories, thoughts, and moods.
