French book to movie

2008 Academy award nominee for best foreign film, Entre les Murs or the Class, is based on the book of the same name. It tells the true story of Francois Begaudeau, (who wrote the book and the screenplay as well as played himself in the movie) and his fellow high school teachers challenged with teaching teens from a tough, economically disadvantaged, and culturally diverse area of France. Winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, it is directed by the award-winning, Laurent Cantet.
