Rough week for TV celebs – Montalban and McGoohan have died

Ricardo Montalban, Fantasy Island’s Mr. Roarke, and Patrick McGoohan, dapper star of Secret Agent and the edgy The Prisoner, both died this week.

Montalban was a movie star in Mexico when MGM discovered him. His breakout star status occurred when he brought people’s fantasies to life on ABC’s hit series, Fantasy Island (1978-1984). He was 88 when he died on Wednesday.

McGoohan, 80, starred in the British cult TV hit series, The Prisoner. The first episode ran in 1967. He also played John Drake in another spy show in the 60s. Danger Man aired in Britain before being brought to the US and renamed Secret Agent. He passed away Tuesday.

Life is just short, that’s why we have to enjoy it. There won’t be any more payday loans for two well-known Hollywood legends. Ricardo Patrick McGoohan passed away on January 13th, and was 80 years old. A day later, Ricardo Montalban also passed away. He was 88 years old. The two well known actors will be remembered for their extraordinary performances on stage, theatre, movies and television series. They were also known for roles that took place on exotic, far away islands in particular. McGoohan starred in the sci-fi drama, “The Prisoner,” while Montalban hosted the television show, “Fantasy Island.” Montalban also appeared in the “Spy Kids” and “Star Trek” series. McGoohan is also remembered for his role in the detective drama “Colombo,” which won him two Emmy awards. He also co-starred with Mel Gibson in 1995 as the ruthless King Edward Longshanks, in Braveheart. Their amazing work in Hollywood has placed them in the hearts of the public.
