August, 2005 saw the last annual open house, tractor show and corn roast at Schettenhelm's Farm and Equipment in Milan. Rain threatened to spoil the day but the sun burst through the clouds to anoint the 2005 show. This was always a traditional gathering of the clan of area farmers, collectors, townies, country folk and the just plain curious. A plowing demonstration by a long row of tractors pulling plows, tilling the soil the old fashioned way, caught the eye of on-lookers. There was also a threshing demonstration. Thanks to the Schettenhelm family for all the years of great show memories.
