Truman Tibbals was the owner of Drake's Sandwich Shop from 1935 until his death in 1994. For over 50 years this restaurant remained virtually unchanged and served as the second home for Ann Arbor Police Department officers. Truman loved the officers and when a new one came in he would take their photo and have them sign his police guest book. He also collected newspaper articles about the police department for over 50 years. All of these items were given to the police department upon his death.
