I RETPAHC: The imprecated mansion In a humid-small town, a curse is upon them. No one knows what or how this curse has been brought upon them. A group of five wanders around a never ending forest for three hours, searching for a rumor going around town about a haunted house. “Where the hell is this haunted house?” Leo complained. “Relax big bro; it has to be around here somewhere.” Jinx replied. “But we’ve been here for three hours already! This is annoying me!” Jinx just sighed and shook her head at that response. “You certainly are a handful…” Jinx whispered. “I heard that.” Leo growled. “You two….always acting foolish…” Elora sighed. “She is, I’m not. She talks too much.” “I do not!” Jinx pouted. “Relax Jinx; he’s just being an idiot as always. You know he never takes the blame.” “I disagree with that.” Leo replied. Jinx and Elora laughed, while Arthur and Ladino stood quiet. Then, everyone but Leo stopped walking. “Can we take a break?” Jinx asked as she stretched. “Yeah, I could go for a break.” Ladino replied. “What? We’ve been here for three hours and you’re already tired?” Leo snapped. “You’re acting like we’ve been here for three minutes…” Arthur replied with a tone. “Whatever! I’m going on ahead!” Leo continued walking. “Leo!! Come back here! Jesus, what a pain in my back…” Jinx groaned. “Can we just leave him here and go back?” Arthur asked. “No. He’s my brother and my GPS. I don’t know what I would do without him.” Jinx replied. She started chasing after Leo, shouting his name while running. “Wait! Jinx don’t run off by yourself!! Wait up!” Elora yelled and chased after her. “Hey! Don’t leave us here you idiots! …Jesus…let’s go Ladino.” Arthur followed. Ladino nodded and followed as well. “WHOA! I found it!” Leo yelled. When the four friends finally found him, they gasped as they looked at the large house in front of them. “Jesus! It’s huge!” Elora yelled. “It’s not that big of a deal. It’s just a mansion.” Arthur crossed his arms. “What are you talking about? It is a big deal! You’re just the type of person that never gets excited to find anything.” Elora said as she crossed her arms “What are you saying?!” Arthur yelled at her. “You know EXACTLY what I’m saying.” Elora yelled back. Arthur just ignored Elora and swore under his breath. “So, now what?” Jinx asked. “We’re going to go inside, that’s what we’re going to do.” Leo walked towards the front door, turned the knob sideways and yanked it open. Leo felt the warm heat flow out the dark entrance. “Um…let’s not. This place seems dangerous!” Ladino panicked. “What?! You’re insane. We’ve been searching for this mansion for three hours, and you want to go back…” Arthur said shaking his head. “I’m going in.” Leo yelled and walked inside. Everyone else followed. Ladino stayed at the back. When they all walked in, the door slammed shut all by itself. Ladino jolted up but calmed down. He sighed with fear and frustration. “Jesus, Leo sure is fast when it comes to snooping around.” Jinx joked. “So…what do we do?” Elora asked. “I guess we look around too?” Jinx asked. Elora nodded. II RETPAHC: The king of the castle With Leo already ahead, Jinx, Elora, Arthur, and Ladino looked around the first floor. “Wow, it’s much cleaner than I suspected. I’m impressed and all but I thought haunted mansions were supposed to be dusty and dirty?” Arthur complained. “Shut up would you? All you ever do is complain.” Elora said in a tone. “Do you have to be so rude dammit?!” Arthur snapped. “Shut UP! Let’s just split up to find Leo and get out of here. I’ll go to the second floor.” Jinx said with hesitation. “I’ll go with you.” Elora replied. “I’m going to stay down here.” Arthur replied. “I’ll go to the second or third floor. If this house has a third fl…” Ladino was interrupted by a sudden noise in the other room, causing everyone to jump. Ladino on the other hand, ran up the stairs without hesitation. Jinx and Arthur stared at him, and shook their heads. “Well I’m going on ahead.” Arthur turned and walked straight ahead where the noise was at. “Let’s go too.” Jinx walked upstairs. Elora nodded and walked up as well. ARTHUR’S POV: When everyone separated, Arthur stayed on the first floor and continues searching for a room that wasn’t locked. He noticed a door near him. It had a hideous design to him. He walked towards the door, reached for the knob, and turned it. Locked. “Another door locked. Why? This is starting to get very weird and aggravating.” He whispered to himself. But he shrugged his shoulders and continued walking straight. When he took a right turn, he saw another door. When he walked towards it and turned the knob, he cussed under his breath. It was locked too. He turned around and walked towards another door, but it was missing a door knob. ‘A swinging door?’ Arthur thought to himself. He walked towards the door, and pushed it. He walked in the room slowly. The kitchen. “Oh...the kitchen.” He whispered and walked in normal speed. ‘Seems nice in here. I love the design and decorations.’ He thought again. He looked around, and then saw glass on the floor under him. He stepped back, it was a shattered plate. “So this made the noise.” He said in victory. He bent down and picked up a shard. He stared at it closely. Suddenly, the lights started to flicker. Arthur sighed and stood back up. “Great…electricity error now?” He said sarcastically. A few seconds later, the lights turned off, then on again. Arthur rolled his eyes, threw the shard on the floor and turned around, facing the “door”. “How can this day get any- WORSE?!” He yelled as he noticed the door gone. He stayed quiet for a second, trying to get his mind to process on what he just saw. “…WHERE THE HELL IS THE DOOR?!” He panicked. It just got worse for Arthur. Elora and Jinx’s POV: “Okay…the second floor…is HUGE!” Elora yelled. Jinx hushed her. “So, do we split up since this floor is so big? I search the left side you search right?” She asked. “Yes. In 15 minutes we both come back to this same spot.” “Alright. Good luck.” “Same to you.” They both turned around, but before they walked away, there was a loud noise. It sounded like someone was shooting. “Shooting? Who brought a gun?” Elora questioned. Jinx shrugged. “I don’t know.” A few seconds later, there was silence. “Weird…” Elora whispered. “Alright, I’m going.” Jinx walked away, leaving the sound of her footsteps surround the dead hall. Elora nodded and turned around. Before she started to walk away also, there was something in front of her. She backed up a little bit, stunned of what she saw. “Gross…what ARE you?!” She yelled in disgust. IT just stood there, staring her down with his dead blue eyes. IT’S skin was pure red, covered in spikes. Then it… Ladino’s POV: As Ladino reaches the third floor, he starts trembling in fear. “I do hope HE doesn’t catch me…no…I don’t want him to catch anyone.” He whispered. He looked around, and sees a door with an unusual design. He walks towards it. “I have a feeling this door is locked. I could be wrong though…it’s been a long time since I been here.” he said as he slowly reached for the knob. He grabbed it, turned it sideways and opened the door slowly. The room was pitch black, but he walked in anyway. When the door closed, the lights turned on. There were shelves filled of books surrounding him. “The library..I don’t think I came in here three years ago.” He said while he walked around them, looking through every shelf. “I could read some books, if I had time.” He stopped walking and picked out a random book. It had a rough black cover, but it had no title. He opened the book, and then noticed a key tapped to the page. He was about to take the key, until the ground started to shake. Ladino jumped, he dropped the book and turned around to see what was happening. Suddenly, the walls started to move back, freaking Ladino out. A few seconds later, the walls and the ground stop moving. Ladino slowly walked near the wall he was facing, and looked both sides. While doing that, he noticed a door on the left side. He walked towards it, already forgotten about the mysterious key in the book. “Did a door just…no…is that even…” Ladino whispered as he continued to walk to the door. When he reached and grabbed the door knob, he felt a warm sensation on it. He slowly twisted it, and yanked it open. The room was pitch black. Ladino sighed, but before he could even close the door, a sound of a woman screaming echoed the room. Then, mysterious black hands popped out, grabbed Ladino, pulled him in the room and slammed the door shut locking it. III RETPAHC: Introducing the sinister and the innocent Jinx walks out of a room with an aggravated look on her face. “Leo’s not in here either. Where on earth could he be…?” Jinx whispered. She turned her head slowly, looking around the hallway to see if there were any closed doors. Jinx would know that she has already been in the room by leaving the door opened a little. That’s what she has done the whole time. But, sadly there weren’t any closed doors. She sighed as she wondered about her brother. What he’s doing, where he’s hiding. She just wanted to find him as soon as possible, gather everyone together and get out before its too late. She wondered if 15 minutes even passed. She shrugged and walked through the hallway, going back to the same spot where she last saw Elora. When she reached the spot, Elora was not there. She looked around. “Elora?” Jinx shouted. No one answered. Jinx started to worry. She started walking through the hallway once more, and then noticed a small door up ahead. Jinx quickly walked towards that door, reached and grabbed the door knob, and opened the door slowly. When the door was half opened, she saw something or someone with his back turned to her. He had red skin, and blue spikes covering his body. His tail was very long. Jinx started to tremble in fear, her heart beating fast. ‘Is that...?’Jinx thought. A few seconds later, her body stopped trembling, but her heart was still beating fast. Suddenly, he disappeared. Her vision was blurry at first, but it came clear. She saw someone on the floor. It was Elora. “Oh, there you are...”Jinx sighed and walked towards her. Elora was shaking. She looked very scared. “Whoa, you look-”“Shut up! I know I look terrified..Because I am!”She continued shaking. Jinx sat in front of her, and smiled. Jinx never saw Elora so scared before. “Dont worry, I’m here. You’re not alone.” “Yeah I know...but did you see that...THING?! So...UGLY!”She yelled. Jinx laughed and hushed her. “You’re so loud.” “But…is that even normal…? The spikes…the skin…those eyes...” Jinx shrugged. “I don’t know. What happened before he came in here? Did you even look for my brother?” Jinx crossed her arms. “I was! I really was. Right when you left, that creature appeared behind me. I ran in this room and I was trying to find a place to hide. But it already found me.” “Okay, what happened after that?” “That’s when you came in.” “Ah…okay.” “I’m guessing you didn’t find Leo either, huh?” Elora joked. Jinx tapped her foot. “What do you think?” Elora laughed. “Alright, let’s go and find that idiot, round everybody up and get the hell out of here.” “Hey, why can’t we check if he’s outside? He could be there.” “Hmm…alright. Just in case.” When Elora agreed, all of a sudden there was heavily breathing surrounding the deadly room. Elora and Jinx froze. “What is tha-” “Shut up!” Jinx whispered. The breathing got louder. Then, there was a sound of someone banging on the door. Elora flinched, Jinx didn’t. ‘What’s wrong with her? She’s not scared?’ Elora thought to herself. “Is that…” “Yes. Now stay quiet.” Jinx commanded. Elora had no choice, but to follow her order. Jinx on the other hand, looked around the room to use as a weapon. She spotted a wooden block. She quickly walked over to it and picked it up. “Are you good at swinging?” Elora whispered. Jinx nodded. “At times like this, I think I’m able to hit-” Jinx was interrupted when the door swung open while the monster rushed towards them with a loud roar. Jinx screamed and whacked the monster in the face with all her fear and power combined together. “RUN!” Jinx yelled. Both Elora and Jinx ran out the room screaming. When they ran out the room, the monster appeared in front of Jinx. Jinx stepped back with a high pitch yelp. She started trembling so much; she dropped the wooden block on the floor. “I don’t want to die!” She yelled. “We’re not going to die!” Elora yelled at her. The monster just growled. Jinx was muttering “I don’t want to die”. Elora just stared at him, thinking about a plan. Her main option was to try to get this creature away from Jinx. She didn’t want her hurt. Elora inhaled, and then exhaled. “Jinx, I want you to run.” “What? But what about you?” “Don’t worry about me, just go.” “But I don’t-” “GO!” Elora pushed Jinx towards the staircase, and then she jumped up, and kicked the monster in the face, landed on her feet, and ran under the staircase that leads to a back door. The monster roared and followed her. “Go to the third floor and hide! If there is one! I’ll meet you there!” Elora yelled. After they left, it was silent. Jinx didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know if she should go upstairs and hide, or go and help her. She looked over at the wooden block she dropped, and then looked upstairs. “What should I do…?” She whispered. After a few seconds of silence, she knew her decision. She denied both. She ran towards the front door and tried to open it. “I have to get out of here! I can’t stand it anymore!” She yelled. It didn’t open. Jinx started to panic. Suddenly, there was a sound of a woman screaming. It echoed through the hallway. When jinx let go of the knob, black hands popped out from the floor, grabbed Jinx by the legs and arms, and pulled her down to the floor, leading to a secret room.
