Playgroups

Wednesday April 16, 2014: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm -- Pittsfield Branch: Program Room

This is a time for babies up to 24 months and their grown-ups to gather and play. The Library will provide the space and a variety of toys.

Each playgroup includes 15 minutes of stories, rhymes and songs. Parents/guardians must remain with their children.

No older siblings, please.

English as a Second Language Conversation Group

Washtenaw Literacy's ESL groups focus on speaking and listening skills for adults in an informal, relaxed setting. TOEFL preparation is also available.

Ann Arbor Public Schools Annual Student Art Exhibit

April 17, 2014 through May 28, 2014 -- Downtown Library: Lower Level Display Cases and Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room Exhibit and Downtown Library: Youth Wall Exhibit

Each year the Ann Arbor Public Schools come to the Ann Arbor District Library to showcase the work of their students. Once again, the developing talents of students from across the city will be shown throughout the Library.

Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art in many mediums will fill the display cases and cover the walls of our art display areas. Enjoy the wonderfully creative projects of the students of kindergarten through fifth grade art classes.

Emerging Writers: Writing & Review Meetup

Thursday April 17, 2014: 7:00 pm to 8:45 pm -- Traverwood Branch: Program Room

This event is intended for adults and teens grades 6 and up

This monthly meeting welcomes all writers to ask questions, connect with other writers, or simply have a dedicated time and place to work on their projects.

Local authors Lara Zielin and Margaret Yang will be on hand to offer encouragement, answer questions, and point writers to resources.

These open houses complement the monthly Emerging Writers Workshops which feature perspectives from both traditional publishing and indie publishing.
