Playgroups

This is a time for babies up to 24 months and their grown-ups to gather and play. The Library will provide the space and a variety of toys.

Each playgroup includes 15 minutes of stories, rhymes and songs. Parents/guardians must remain with their children.

No older siblings, please.

New York Times Bestselling Author Louise Penny, Discusses Her New Mystery 'The Long Way Home'

AADL will be hosting New York Times Bestselling author, Louise Penny. Louise will be at Washtenaw Community College discussing the tenth book in her Chief Inspector Gamache series, The Long Way Home, which will be released only two days before her lecture!

Louise Penny is renowned for fiction that combines heartbreak and hope, and offers a window into the human soul. "How Light Gets In", the last of her Chief Inspector Gamache series hit #1 on the New York Times Hardcover Bestseller List. Louise continues to up the ante with her vibrant series – each one more unique and memorable than the last.

Penny's nine previous Chief Inspector Armand Gamache novels reached #1 on the The New York Times and Globe and Mail bestselling list . She has won numerous awards, including a CWA Dagger, the Agatha Award (five times) and was a finalist for the Edgar Award for Best Novel.

Books will be on sale, and the evening will include a book signing.

Washtenaw Literacy's ESL groups focus on speaking and listening skills for adults in an informal, relaxed setting. TOEFL preparation is also available.

Summer Game Wrap-Up Party

Come for refreshments, fun and several surprises. There will also be a special code and badge. You can even make suggestions for next year’s game!
