Participants in this class will be introduced to the concepts involved in tagging items in online environments. Learn why tagging can be useful and how it allows users to add value to information. The class will then focus on the basics of tagging in environments like www.aadl.org and Flickr. These kinds of how-to elements will include setting up a username and account, adding a tag, searching for tags, and reading and using other peoples tags. Finally, we will spend some time looking at sites where tagging is a core function.
