Ann Arbor Women Artists Spring Exhibition
Now through April 21, 2009 -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room Exhibit and 3rd Floor Exhibit
Ann Arbor Women Artists, founded in 1951, is a non-profit organization of approximately 230 artists, beginning to professional, of both genders. The purpose of the AAWA is to stimulate creative expression and sharing among its members. Each calendar year the AAWA holds two or three juried shows. A juror is invited to select from a large group of submissions a final show that is a reflection of the body of work produced by the membership.
Local arts educator Ellen Wilt has been invited to jury the AAWA Spring 2009 Juried Show. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and a professor emeritus of Eastern Michigan University's Art Department. The public is invited to hear a lecture by Ms. Wilt in association with the exhibit on Friday, March 6 from 7 - 8 pm in the Downtown Library Multi-Purpose Room. Refreshments will be served and the winners of the AAWA 2009 Exhibition will be announced.
