Michigan Mushroom Hunter
Thursday May 9, 2013: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room
What makes mushrooming such a fun and interesting activity? How can someone tell if a mushroom is safe for eating? How can you preserve them?
Phil Tedeschi, President of the Michigan Mushroom Hunters Club, will provide a visual exploration of the various mushrooms found in Michigan, beginning with the morel of spring and continuing through the fall with such varieties as Stumpers and Hen of the Woods. Phil is a respected mycologist who loves to share his enjoyment and knowledge of wild mushrooms with beginning and experienced mushroom hunters. Join Phil for this exploration of the world of fungi and learn about Michigan's bountiful array of edible and non-edible mushrooms.
This event is for adults and teens (grade 6 and up).
