Kerrytown BookFest 2012 Reception And Exhibit Opening

Friday September 7, 2012: 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room

Join us for a pre-BookFest reception for the 10th annual Kerrytown BookFest! This event will include elegant refreshments; exquisite music by harpist Deborah Gabrion and the grand opening of the BookFest's Exhibit at the Library "A Celebration of Book Arts in Ann Arbor," which will be on display through October 11.

Local bookbinder and book collector John MacKrell will provide an introduction and an inside look at the exhibit, which focuses on the rich history of book arts developed in the Ann Arbor area over the past 20-plus years. Drawing from this rich heritage, the exhibit will feature books and ephemera related to books, including bookbindings, paper making, illustration, printing, marbling and other related items. Some will come from Hollander's and some from the multitude of book-related artists who have contributed to the depth and breadth of book arts in Ann Arbor.

The 10th annual Kerrytown BookFest, ( will occur on Sunday, September 9 and is an event celebrating those who create books and those who read them. Since 2003 The Kerrytown BookFest has been growing, sharing, and discovering more and more about the rich book culture in this region.
