National Library Week Event: Health Care Reform: Its Contents And Challenges
Wednesday April 11, 2012: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room
Two years after the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), the American public remains divided in its support of the law and unsure of its effects. Legal and political challenges have also threatened the law and hampered its implementation.
Join Josh Fangmeier, health policy consultant at the Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation (CHRT), as he describes the current state of the American healthcare system and how healthcare reform changes it through expanding coverage to millions of the uninsured, providing incentives to improve quality, and beginning to slow America's rapidly rising healthcare costs. This presentation will also provide an overview of the ACA's current accomplishments and the road ahead.
Josh Fangmeier is a health policy consultant at the Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation (CHRT). He is responsible for providing policy analysis and analytical support for a variety of health policy projects, including issues related to implementation of healthcare reform at the state and federal levels.
