Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Reads Event - Elizabeth Chiu King, President of the Chinese American Educational and Cultural Center of Michigan, Discusses Food In Chinese Culture

To the Chinese, food is on equal par with other fine arts. It is part of what sustains Chinese people and civilization and made China what it is today. Elizabeth Chiu King, President of the Chinese American Educational and Cultural Center of Michigan (CAECC) will present a lecture and discussion that will touch on the historical, anthropological, sociological and cultural aspects of food. This event is cosponsored by CAECC.

A native of Shanghai, China, Elizabeth is the author of five books on Chinese culture and cuisine. She speaks four Chinese dialects fluently and has been actively promoting Chinese culture and the arts in the Greater Detroit area for the last 35 years. Elizabeth is one of the founding members of CAECC and is also the current chair. She travels to Asia frequently and is now working on her memoirs.
