Maximizing Your Ability Throughout Life By Staying Active
Thursday October 27, 2011: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm -- Traverwood Branch: Program Room
Exercise has been proven to be beneficial both to body and mind. Physical activity can help reduce pain, relieve depression, increase circulation, and develop endurance. If you or people you know have a chronic condition or a disability, our panel of local experts from five local fitness centers will describe some of the exercises and routines that can be used to maintain flexibility and strength.
Presenters will share how activities can be adapted for individual needs and mobility. Please join us for a discussion of what you can do to improve your quality of life.
Panelists represent WCC Health and Fitness Center (Stephanie Branham); Chelsea Wellness Center (Dawn Lyons); Ann Arbor YMCA (Mary Beth Sheehan); Saline Parks and Recreation (Carla Scruggs); and MHealthy (Carolyn Warheit). The moderator is Carolyn Grawi, Educator/Advocate of the Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living. This event is co-sponsored by the UM Council for Disability Concerns.
