This event is presented by AADL and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival, and is also the first in the Kids Rock Series@TOP - a Sunday series of concerts at Top of the Park, presented by AADL and the Summer Festival.
Kids rockers Board of Education first made a name for themselves as Seattle's melodic indie pop band Central Services. By 2008, lead singer and former science teacher Kevin Emerson convinced his bandmates to take their clever songwriting and general fascination with odd factoids (and pretty much anything to do with space travel) in the direction of catchy, educational kid's songs. Their album Central Services presents...The Board of Education!, with its encyclopedic silliness and irresistible hooks, is perfect for kids ages 7-12, and has garnered national attention, including a feature on NPR's All Things Considered about music parents and kids can agree on, and repeat performances at Seattle's Bumbershoot and Brooklyn's Kindiefest.
Get ready Ann Arbor, Board of Education is ready to rock!
