Learn how to design web pages and interactive applications using HTML, CSS and Javascript. This class will focus on understanding and writing the client-side code that web browsers process in order to display formatted content onto the screen. Topics covered include: the Document Object Model (DOM), basic HTML tags, controlling document appearance using CSS, and making interactive applications using Javascript. Participants in the class will make their own interactive application. Basic computer and mouse experience is required. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. In this class we will discuss the basics of web sites, web servers, and modern web applications. Following this discussion, we will learn how to build applications in Python using Google App Engine. By the end of the class, students will have built their first web application, and deployed it to Google's servers.
