Easy Knits with Expert Jillian Moreno

Knitters of all levels are welcome to come learn from knitting expert Jillian Moreno. Jillian will demo stitches and share patterns for scarves, mittens and hats. Yarn will be supplied -- bring needles if you have them.

Jillian Moreno is the author of "Big Girl Knits" and "More Big Girl Knits." She was formerly marketing director with Interweave Press, and helped launch magazines like Interweave Knits, Beadwork, and Natural Home Magazine. She is also the catalyst for Knitty.com and a frequent contributor.

Graphic Novel Bootcamp: Training in the Fundamentals of Comics Storytelling

Sunday September 28, 2008: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm -- Pittsfield Branch: Program Room

Local comics creator Mark Rudolph will lead this discussion and hands-on workshop about the sophisticated array of choices involved in visual storytelling. Participants will be invited to create comics of their own. All supplies will be provided.

Mark's work includes: Closing Doors, Say It In Slugs, and Curse of the Pharoahs. His work was also featured in a recent documentary aired on Detroit Public Television.
