Dancing Babies!

If you are a member of the AADL storytime crowd then you know Betsy Beckerman and Sara Melton Keller. We have been bouncing to their wonderful songs for years, so why not get up and dance along? I can’t wait for circle dances, marches, and other baby moves at Dancing Babies on Wednesday, August 12 at 7:00 pm at the Pittsfield Branch!

Dancing Fun!

Imagine the grace and creativity of three recent University of Michigan's Department of Dance graduates. Now add the joy and spontaneity of children in grades Kindergarten through Third. A perfect recipe for a splendid afternoon with Adventures in Movement at the Traverwood Branch on Monday, August 10 at 2:00 pm. I can't wait to join in the fun with Jumping Off the Bandwagon!

Wed. Gaming Nights in August @ UMMA

Hey, This month AADL will be bringing two of our most popular games to the University of Michigan's Museum of Art. Rock Band and DDR in a museum? That's right, UMMA has asked the library to take part in their "Evenings in the Commons" series, Every Wednesday Night This Month. Come join us at the museums new common room (The glass room with all the video game stuff) from 7pm-10pm and ROCK OUT! To get all the details read more.

Laughter Blast!

Last winter our friends Badria Jazairi and Phil Walker offered us such a good time with laughter yoga that we invited them back for more! Friday, August 7th at the Pittsfield Branch at 7:00 pm, 9 year olds and up are invited for creative play and movement! Adults and teens are very welcome!

The Salvation Army will be accepting applications for back pack and school supplies assistance for children in grades 1 to 8 from August 3 to August 7, 9am to 11am and 1pm to 3pm. Puzzle Palooza

What could be better than a good laugh, a magic trick and an outrageous puzzle, all at the same time? If you are going into grade Kindergarten or up, you are in for a treat with the Scheer Genius of Doug Scheer, presenting Puzzle Palooza on Friday, July 31st at 10:00 am at the Downtown Library (the location has been moved from Malletts to Downtown) and 1:00 pm at the Pittsfield Branch.

Magical Rain Theaterworks visits on Sunday, July 26, from 2-3pm in the Downtown Library Multipurpose Room to perform Palabras Luminosas. Palabras Luminosas is a dramatic and fun collection of stories from throughout the Americas with Latino stories of traps and tricksters, animals, food, and the marvelous oddness of everyday life. This is a great program for the whole family--what a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Drop by the Traverwood Branch this Saturday, July 25, from 2-3pm to Make Your Own Frisbee. Dave Morris and others from the Ann Arbor Ultimate Frisbee League will be on hand to show you some smooth frisbee moves that you can try yourself! This program is designed for kids grades k-5.
