Explore the principles of animation using the game-focused challenges created by the instructors at GameStart. No prior experience necessary.

Explore the endless possibilities of Minecraft programming using the Python programming language!

Begin with the basics of navigating 3D space via code. Then work your way up to our automated-city-building programming challenges! Along the way, learn Python concepts like loops, arguments and functions. No prior experience necessary.

This hands-on session will be led by the staff from GameStart.

Artificial Intelligence

Friday August 15, 2014: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm -- Downtown Library: Training Center

This event is intended for grades 3 - 8.

Use the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 4 to learn the basics of artificial intelligence for games. Learn about the different goals of game AIs and how they accomplish those goals, while getting familiar with Unreal's innovative visual scripting system.

The second half of the workshop will be student-directed work on enemy AI for their own game! No prior experience necessary.
