GameStart Workshop: Roblox Studio

The staff of GameStart will show you how to combine elements of art, design, math, and physics as you learn to make your own video game! You will start by creating your own hero, villain, and in-game props, then you will craft the landscape of your game world with challenging puzzles and thrilling obstacles.

Bring your first Computer Animation to life! Learn classic techniques developed by the masters of animation.

Explore the principles of animation using the game-focused challenges created by the instructors from GameStart. In this class we will be using 3D animation and lighting techniques.

Electronic Music Production with Mike Huckaby

This event is intended for adults and teens (grade 6 and up).

Learn electronic music production with Mike Huckaby. Tastemaker, Educator, Sound Designer, and Motor City Proponent, Mike has done much for electronic music. The man behind the once legendary Record Time store has gathered an encyclopedic knowledge of dance music. Currently an in demand remixer and performer around the world, Mike also serves as an instructor for Native Instruments and Ableton on their digital music tools.

GameStart: Minecraft Programming

This event is intended for Grades 3-8

Explore the endless possibilities of Minecraft programming using the Python programming language! Begin with the basics of navigating 3D space via code. Then work your way up to our automated-city-building programming challenges! Along the way, learn Python concepts like loops, arguments and functions. No prior experience necessary. This hands-on session will be led by the staff from GameStart.

Discover the Java programming language as you learn how Minecraft Mods are created! In this class you will program and design your own tool type in Minecraft. From egg shooters to paint guns, anything is possible!

GameStart: Board Game Maker Workshop
