Kiwanis Rummage Sale, ca 1960
Year
1960
Between 1948 and 1968, before the Ann Arbor Kiwanians purchased their building at First and Washington Streets, the Armory on Ann Street was the home of the annual Kiwanis Sale. The donated items accumulated during the year were stored in member's barns, warehouses, garages and any nook available. The goods had to be trucked, unloaded and stocked at the Armory before the doors opened for the big three day event. This photo was taken sometime between 1958 and 1964 by club member Wally Niemann.
