The Online Reference Service of the Ann Arbor District Library is designed to provide brief answers to reference questions.
Who is answering questions?
Staff in the Adult Services Department at the Downtown Branch of the Ann Arbor District Library will be responding to questions received online.
What does it cost and how long will it take?
There is no charge for this service. We will respond to all acceptable queries on the day they are submitted or on the next day. If you need an immediate response, please contact your local library location. It is not possible to check on the status of a submitted question by phone. If you have not received a response within three business days, you may resubmit your question using the form.
Will all questions be answered?
Probably not. Questions handled through this service should be of a short, factual nature. Research and extensive homework questions will not be answered. You may not receive the specific response you requested, but you may receive a pointer to a resource which contains the answer. Customers with questions that require more than can be provided by this method are encouraged to visit a library for further assistance.
