Old Meets New submitted by Meginator on July 8, 2021, 6:53pm This album has a nice and innovative feeling to it, mixing uncommon stringed instruments and folk music styles with piano and percussion to create a blend of old and new. The songs have a lot of nuance to them, and each has a slightly different approach while fitting in nicely among the others; I particularly appreciated the more uptempo tracks, as they really exemplify Kabanov's blending of musical traditions. The album felt just a bit repetitive to me by the end, but a few of the early tracks were really eye-opening and nicely different than anything I had heard before.
