Strong Start, Weak Middle, Strong Finish submitted by Meginator on June 25, 2023, 12:37pm This album of electronic music starts off strong but fades quite a bit toward the middle, before ending with a (muted) bang. Most of the tracks sit somewhere in the ambient area, without much of a pulse or anything else to excite interest yet with enough coherence to evoke a sense of pleasant calm; this is in marked contrast to the solid energy of the bookending tracks, which makes for an interesting overall listening experience that fades in and out of your conscious mind. This isn’t bad or even all that boring, but unfortunately the opener set up an expectation that the rest of the album simply didn’t live up to.
