Reads like the best kind of Medium essay submitted by christinacz on July 21, 2018, 9:42pm This book is great for getting tech folks and the general public thinking about the biases that underlie the technology we use everyday. It’s great for designers who have never thought about the ways that the predominant and homogeneous straight, white, male culture of tech influences and impairs the design of online and tech systems we use everyday. An important and very approachable read!

A good retrospection on tech and bias submitted by timbresson on June 11, 2023, 1:43pm It doesn't go too deep into solutions for many of the problems. The book sort of recounts the disconnect between the sort of mono-culture of silicon valley and the experiences of the diverse users over the years. It's helps open your eyes to "good" intention and how that doesn't imply automatic inclusion.
