Sixteen-year-old Leo Coughlin's life is increasingly stressful because his autistic older brother Caleb's behavior is becoming more bizarre and even violent, and their parents' marriage is falling apart--but Leo finds an escape in long distance running, and in two new friends: Curtis, himself a potential state champion who teaches him the strategy of running, and Mary, his would-be girlfriend.

Disappointing submitted by mrajraspn08 on November 19, 2017, 12:30pm I was so excited to read this...and I didn't even finish it. The story barely has a climax, just moving in a straight line. I thought about quitting several times, but I was curious how a couple things would play out. Well, the author seemed to realize that he didn't actually know how it was going to play out, so he just got rid of it (I don't want to spoil the end, but you'll know what I mean when you read it). Once that happened, I set the book aside. I was done. I was ready to give it three stars because the whole of it wasn't bad--just flat with a bad ending--but after sitting with it for a few hours, I got more and more mad at the conclusion, so I really can't go higher than two. Several aspects are interesting, and with a complete rewrite, it could be a good book, but as it is, I don't recommend.
