Not quite Doctor Seuss.

But, better in some ways, because it isn't nonsense. The sounds animals make are given a surface exploration suitable for K-2. Highly recommended. (Maybe even for older kids having an off day.)

A bit challenging to read aloud submitted by FordAlpha on August 11, 2019, 8:55pm This book's strength is also its weakness: it explores the sounds made by a wide variety of interesting animals, which is a great concept, but it's a bit of a challenge for the adult reading the book aloud to know how to make some of the sounds. These aren't your standard Moo, Baa, Quack. Steve Jenkins' illustrations are excellent as always. Overall, I enjoyed this book, but it didn't capture my children's attention as I hoped it would.
