Multicultural Women in London submitted by sdunav on June 25, 2018, 3:20pm There's a bit of romance, bits of erotica, a bit of mystery, and lots of exploration of differences between first and second generation Sikh immigrants in London in this novel.
Culture and generational clashes submitted by wendylv on June 17, 2019, 3:57pm This was an enjoyable story about a young Sikh woman in London trying to navigate the cultural and generational divide in her Sikh community while she stumbles into an unsolved murder-mystery. It seems ready-for-an-adapted-screenplay but was entertaining none the less!
Meh. Unrealistic and also poor writing

Meh. Not a great book. The basic storyline is pretty unbelievable and the writing is mediocre at best. I thought it read like a YA book: simple, clunky sentences; unnatural dialogue; not much depth of character. The erotic stories had their titillating moments, but it was absurd to think that they would have been spouted out by these non-literate women in these polished words. There were sudden scene shifts that were confusing, but possibly that was because I was reading it on a Kindle, and some of the formatting grace of the book might have been lost.
I finished it only because I was reading it for a book group. Can’t recommend it.
A Pleasant Surprise submitted by bookasaurusray on July 26, 2022, 11:37pm I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this simple book. I don't want to give too much away, because I went into this knowing very little, but I will say that I loved the community of women for coming together and breaking away from the traditional.
Highly enjoyable submitted by tcramer318 on August 13, 2023, 12:58am The summary on the book jacket didn't mention the murder mystery, but it's there and it helped to hook me. These ladies sound like a delight to be around.
