The Terroir of a Business submitted by BookNerd on June 17, 2017, 9:34pm Weinzweig starts the book with a history of the first building in the Zingerman's Deli complex, the old grocery store built by Rocco Disderide in 1902 at the corner of Kingsley and Detroit Streets in Ann Arbor.

With liberal use of quotes from Rebecca Solnit, Emma Goldman, Wendall Berry; poets, architects, and anarchists, he tells the story of how beliefs shape lives, and how spaces shape both beliefs and lives.

This is the fourth book in the Zingerman "Guide To Good Leading" series, and Weinzweig includes "secrets" 40 through 49 of what makes Zingerman's a successful business. This fourth volume is focused on our beliefs alter what happens every day at work.. He compares those to characteristics of a healthy ecosystem and how values-based decision making can create a healthy business organization.

Filled with both theory and illustrative anecdotes, this is yet another generous sharing of the Zingerman's organizational culture and how they consciously choose to keep developing it.
