Snappsy! submitted by PizzaPuppy on February 23, 2016, 2:37pm Another great addition to our collection is Snappsy the Alligator Did Not Ask to Be in This Book! by Julie Falatko. In it, Snappsy the Alligator is having an average day until a pesky narrator begins to interfere. Snappsy just wants to get back to his usual business, but the narrator begins to add elaboration to the story that Snappsy doesn't quite agree with. According to the narrator, Snappsy prowls the forest looking for tasty but defenseless birds and soft bunnies to devour... meanwhile Snappsy makes a boring trip to the grocery store. The narrator remarks on Snappsy's hideous and surprisingly lopsided shack, and an annoyed Snappsy replies that its a shack he built himself. Growing wise to the narrator's antics, Snappsy begins to change his actions to try to appease the narrator. This meta book is hilarious and features adorable cartoon illustrations that remind me quite a bit of Mo Willem's work. Snappsy the Alligator Did Not Ask to Be in This Book is perfect for children of all ages (and their parents are sure to enjoy it too!).
Adorable submitted by downing on June 18, 2016, 12:44pm I really enjoyed the self-awareness of the character.
