Positive Songs for Negative People submitted by Meginator on July 7, 2019, 5:10pm This album’s title perfectly captures its general vibe: Frank Turner certainly isn’t one to shy away from life’s more difficult trials and tribulations, and his style combines folk and punk in a way that encapsulates both dark energy and the hope that arises from it (with lyrics to match). A master storyteller, Turner is willing to turn confessional too, and his songs feel personal and raw without ever becoming trite. Every time I return to this album I find another layer of emotional depth to it, and I cannot recommend Frank Turner highly enough; he just gets it.
