Murder in the Islands submitted by Angela Argento on August 20, 2020, 4:16pm Our family greatly enjoys this detective series set in the Shetland Islands. Beautiful scenery, well thought out storylines and cinematography, and well developed characters

quite different from the books submitted by camelsamba on August 30, 2020, 10:26pm I listened to these mysteries as audiobooks first, then I learned about these BBC adaptations. I was surprised at how different they are! Some of the differences are in the characters: no Fran, Cassie is a teen, Jimmy Perez himself doesn't have the appearance of a dark outsider. But there are also some major differences in the plots (e.g. Blue Lightning without Fran is a very different story!) So if you started with the books, don't expect a close adaptation. However, the gorgeous scenery allows me to overlook the differences and enjoy the view.
