"Former special ops pilot Maya, home from the war, sees an unthinkable image captured by her nanny cam while she is at work: her two-year-old daughter playing with Maya's husband, Joe--who had been brutally murdered two weeks earlier. The provocative question at the heart of the mystery: Can you believe everything you see with your own eyes, even when you desperately want to? To find the answer, Maya must finally come to terms with deep secrets and deceit in her own past before she can face the unbelievable truth about her husband--and herself."-- Provided by publisher.

Excellent Standalone by Coben submitted by laurenmccarthya2 on June 18, 2016, 2:12pm Although the twisted ending came pretty abruptly, it was an enjoyable and exciting read. If you're a fan of Coben's stand-alone thrillers, you should definitely check this one out!

Fool me once submitted by geneslibrary on September 23, 2017, 4:11pm Harlen Coben fooled me once. Fool Me Once was filled with characters none of whom I could relate to. The protagonist, Maya, a former Captain in the U.S. Army, loses her sister and her husband to murder. Too many pages of wasted time and thoughts, too much irrational behavior for someone trained to think and act rationally.
So, weak characters, wasted time, things kept secret for far too long. Sorry Harlen. You fooled me once but I won't be coming back.

Big Twist at the End submitted by heapah on July 14, 2019, 10:02am Fool Me Once is a classic Harlan Coben page turner. You have to suspend *some* disbelief at the end, but Coben is a good enough at weaving together plot pieces along the way he still deserves credit. I was fooled. Good book.

Fool submitted by DBogie on August 18, 2021, 8:22pm Fool me is the correct way to think when reading his books and this was as interesting as many of his books.
I with some other authors will skip to last chapter but I never do that with his because I don’t want to rune the ending.
