"In Coup fatal ("Fatal blow"), Fabrizio Cassol works with the Congrolese countertenor Serge Kakudji and an orchestra of 13 musicians from Kinshasa conducted by Rodriguez Vangama in order to devise music inspired by the Baroque repertoire. The original songs, driven by Congolese influences and subtly nuanced crossings, reveal a heretofore unsuspected dimension of this precious Western heritage"--Program notes.
