Book review by M.G. Rowling submitted by Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor on April 13, 2016, 9:40am Do you like funny comic books? Then you should read the Arnie the Doughnut series. The book that I read is The Adventures of Arnie the Doughnut: The Spinny Icky Showdown. The author is Laurie Keller. My book is part of a series of three books. My book is fiction because there is a doughnut that talks. The setting is mostly their backyard. The characters in the book are Arnie the Doughnut, Peezo the Pizza and Nick Pumpernickel a very strong person. The problem in the book is that Nick Pumpernickel is about to beat them in a race. The solution to this problem is that Nick Pumpernickel slipped in fruit juice so he did not win. It was exciting!

I gave my book four stars. It was very funny when Nick Pumpernickel fell into their neighbor’s yard, and normally people get scared of him but he was scared of the neighbor. It was very interesting when they walked on a tightrope made of only toothpicks. I like the characters. I like the surprises in the book such as when a little girl fell off a tightrope into sticky, icky goo. Another reason I liked the book is the pictures were very funny. I would recommend this book to kids who like comic books and anybody else who likes funny pictures.
