...it's complicated submitted by mrajraspn08 on November 19, 2017, 12:41pm So this is a really good, amazing, emotional book. You really feel for the characters and are invested in their story. I literally read this in one sitting because I wanted to see what happened. So why is it complicated? Because of the end. The end was just painful. Some stories end sadly, and it's emotionally cleansing. It's what the story requires. I recently watched a movie that ended sadly, but in an absolutely beautiful way, and even though it wasn't what I thought I wanted, it was, it was the best ending possible. This book wasn't that. It says, "This is going to be a beautiful ending, and it's going to be amazing," and you start to cry with joy and hope and you love the author for writing the book...and then it slams you down onto the concrete. I suppose it says something that the end emotionally wrecked me for days, but not in the way you want it to. It ends perfectly, then goes thirty pages more to take all that away. That being said, I'm tend to enjoy a hopeful ending, so I could see someone else thinking the ending was perfect and necessary. But for my review, I don't think it was, and that's an incredible shame.
