Love Letter to the Great Lakes - via a sweet Mermaid submitted by Emily Atherton on June 14, 2022, 2:37pm My 3-year-old daughter asks for this one over and over. It's one of our longer bedtime picture books, but she loves it - I'd say perfect for kids 2-10. It's a sweet, sincere story about a gentle mermaid trying to find her magical gemstone, after the other mermaid children found theirs in the worlds' oceans, and a Sea Turtle helps her search the Great Lakes. The scenery is idyllic, enchanting illustrations, and familiar to anyone who lives near the Lakes - especially for us in Michigan. And the gem that she finds is just perfect and caps an extremely sweet and heartfelt story. A great story for calming down before bed.
