Read by Amy Ryan & Michael Stuhlbarg.
When Lars Thorvald's wife, Cynthia, falls in love with wine, and a dashing sommelier, he's left to raise their baby, Eva, on his own. He's determined to pass on his love of food to his daughter. As Eva grows, she finds her solace and salvation in the flavors of her native Minnesota. From Scandinavian lutefisk to hydroponic chocolate habaneros, each ingredient represents one part of Eva's journey as she becomes the star chef behind a legendary and secretive pop-up supper club.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A mystery/romance/fiction for foodies! submitted by mickplu on June 15, 2018, 11:21pm This novel follows Eva Thorvald from her infancy to adulthood as a chef extraordinaire. I love the descriptions of the dinners/dishes that Eva prepares that ultimately pave the way for her to becoming the owner and chef behind the most sought after dinner reservation. The plot is a bit disjointed at times but wraps together nicely in the end. A definite hit if you are a foodie! There's romance, humor (how to fend off bullies with plants that you grow at home) and a comment on the new age foodie culture. I loved the part where a middle aged woman confronts a pack of young gluten free, etc. parents
