More great M&S submitted by VickyB77 on August 6, 2015, 11:46am Another great album! It's a bit more electric and a bit less twangy, so they've seemed to evolve a bit, but still holds some great music.

I Miss the Banjo submitted by Meginator on August 24, 2020, 10:33pm Coming on the heels of “Sigh No More” and “Babel”, this album absolutely screams of missed opportunities and “what might have been”; though I understand and appreciate that bands naturally evolve over time, I cannot separate “Wilder Mind” from Mumford & Sons’s earlier albums, and against those expectations it is inevitably disappointing. Gone is the folk-flavored soul from their earlier releases and the virtuoso banjo that anchored their powerful lyrics in a kind of melancholy, both replaced by indie-flavored rock that is fine but lacks everything that made the band so unique- and so good. The band’s significant songwriting skill rises in flashes, and they definitely have their finger on the pulse of contemporary rock, but ultimately this album lacks that musical x factor to tie it all together.

Accidentally timely; great for driving submitted by terpsichore17 on July 28, 2021, 9:53am I have never been fond of "Believe," but "Tompkins Square Park," "The Wolf," "Only Love," and "Ditmas" all tap into a kind of desperate energy that feels even more appropriate in 2021 than it did in 2015.
