COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Disappointing adaptation submitted by sumsaylor on July 26, 2015, 7:59pm An inspiring story but not nearly as good as the book.

Hard to watch submitted by DL on June 27, 2016, 1:09pm Some parts were hard to watch, violence is part of war. Great story of perseverance.

Good submitted by wgregory on July 3, 2016, 11:54am Wish there had been a little more pre-story.

Unbroken submitted by yenkong on August 1, 2017, 10:18am Great movie.

worth the time submitted by klondry on September 7, 2018, 2:19pm Not quite as good as the book, but still worth watching. Only covers the first 2/3 of the book (up through the end of the war). The last 1/3 of the book (PTSD, salvation, forgiveness, and redemption, post-war years) is being covered in a follow-up movie to be released in late 2018. Looking forward to it.

Very Good First Part of the Story submitted by wersaloma on September 22, 2019, 2:05am Movies never live up to the book. But, this movie is VERY good!
I did watch both "Unbroken" and "Unbroken: Redemption." Which I would highly recommend! You get the whole story with the two.
Extremely inspiring and just an amazement!! Another astonishing story of the physical and mental punishment man can persevere through and eventually make it back to a fulfilling and joyful life. (Again, you have to watch both.)
Please do yourself a favor and watch all the bonuses. Definitely makes the movie really come to life and shows what an inspiration Louis Zamperini is/was. : )
